M. Paul De Vietien (CRD #1121492, Registered Representative, Tampa, Florida) was fined $16,000 and suspended from association with any FINRA member in any capacity for one year. The NAC imposed the sanctions following De Vietien’s appeal of an Office of HearingOfficers (OHO) decision. The sanctions were based on findings that De Vietien participated in private securities transactions without the required prior written notice to, and written approval from, his member firm. The findings stated that De Vietien participated in outside business activities without providing written notice to his firm.
The suspension is in effect from March 7, 2011, through March 6, 2012. (FINRA Case #2006007544401).
